Jambeera Pinda Sweda, also known as "Lemon Pinda Sweda" in Ayurveda, is a therapeutic procedure that involves the use of lemon and other herbal ingredients in a bolus form, which is then applied to the body to induce sweating and provide relief from various ailments. This treatment is particularly beneficial for conditions related to imbalances in the doshas, which are the three fundamental energies in Ayurvedic medicine. It is also called Njaranga Kizhi, a traditional Ayurvedic therapeutic treatment primarily used to address musculoskeletal issues and promote overall well-being. This therapy is often used to relieve pain and stiffness in conditions such as arthritis, muscle cramps, and joint pain.

A 30 minutes rhythmic medicated oil massage on the affected area by our ayurvedic therapist. Jambeera or citrus fruits (lemons) along with other herbs are tied into a poultice and heated. Our therapists then provide this poultice massage for another 30 minutes onto the painful parts to assuage pain, stiffness and soreness
Lemon is used for its warming and detoxifying properties. Herbs and Spices like ginger, turmeric, and fenugreek, which are known for their anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. The lemons and other herbs/spices are combined and heated to release their essential oils and therapeutic properties. The mixture is then wrapped in a cloth to form a bolus (pinda).
Application of Oil: The Ayurvedic practitioner applies warm oil to the treatment area. This helps in lubricating the skin and preparing it for the therapeutic bolus. Application of Pinda: The warm bolus (pinda) is gently pressed and massaged onto the treatment area. The practitioner uses rhythmic, circular movements to apply the bolus. The bolus may be reapplied periodically to maintain warmth and therapeutic effect. Sweating Induction: The heat from the bolus and the massage stimulate sweating, which helps to expel toxins from the body.
